Squishy love.

Our friends received our package of goodies last week so I can finally post them here. They were so fun to make... I especially love the glasses and have to say that I am proud of myself for pulling them off. You can see these little squishy things in action here. I'm going to be selling them at an upcoming market in Berlin to see what the reception is like... maybe I'll be adding them to my shops soon.

A long lost friend of ours is coming to stay with us for the weekend, with his band No Kids. They are starting off a European tour with Mount Eerie and will be playing in a city near you. If you haven't been exposed to them yet I highly suggest you check them out. Let the fun begin.

Happy Friday. The weekend is here!

A return to normalcy.

Sorry once again for the long absence. I really shouldn't make it a habit, should I? I have a pretty good excuse though. We were visiting two lovely friends of ours in Ireland last week. To be fair we got back about a week ago but it always feels like such a huge job to take the photos from my camera and get them post-ready. This is the real reason for my delay... I also have a roll of medium format film that I need to get developed. I'm so excited to see how the photos turned out.

Some highlights from the past week:

We went to see a wooden veil show at the Alte Kindl Brauerei in Neukölln. It was a beautiful show held in a beautiful space.

I shared a table with a friend at the Sideseeing Designers Market this weekend.

I finally got a chance to check out Cafe Einstein on Unter den Linden. It has a really nice austrian atmosphere where the servers are clad in crisp bow-tied uniforms.

In additional news...one of my favourite Toronto shops, Wildhagen, has a bunch of new hats for offer. I'm getting excited for our trip home so I can pop by!

So we've had a few grey days in a row and it's starting to wear on me. I don't mind them once in awhile, it gives me a chance to get all cozy indoors, but today I just need sunlight. On the bright side, i have no reason to go out today and can concentrate on German. Ah how I've neglected the German lately. Above is some proof that I'm getting down to business.

Nothing much else to report on here except, we might go and see Bat for Lashes next week at Postbahnhof. I haven't been into going to shows too much here because they are often in huge venues. I miss the little guys of Toronto... maybe the problem is not with the venues but the bands that I am going to see. hm. I'm thinking of going to see the Nan Goldin and Robert Frank exhibitions at C/O this weekend. But dread the weekend crowds... maybe tomorrow morning!

Also thinking about doing a Berlin underground tour. But haven't done any research yet... have heard that there are still intact underground mail delivery systems in the city. Hopefully I'll be able to dig something up on that!

Happy Thursday.

Ps. The apple pie was a success but the light in our apartment was too crappy to document said success. We'll be going apple picking this weekend so hopefully there will be many more chances. Hello baking season!
