I'm still here and have been working a lot and spending lots of time working on personal projects. The weather has been so nice and warm that it's hard not to spend as much of our free time as possible outside at the park. P and I picked a beautiful bouquet of wild flowers yesterday while walking home.

Next year we will be getting a little garden with a small house on it just at the northern edge of Berlin. I can't wait to spend weekends and some evenings there. I look forward to the fruit trees and growing vegetables and flowers. It's something that I've been craving these last five years, living in an apartment in the city, without a balcony.

Hope you're able to enjoy the summer and spend lots of time outside!

Happy Saturday.

We're just settling in at home after a long holiday. It's nice to get back into a routine again. While we were away I managed to experiment with some tiny weaving samples. I'm just itching to get back into using my loom!

Have a lovely Tuesday.

I just finished my second weaving project that I've been fooling around with at home. I'm not sure if you can even call it weaving. This small rug was made on a loom using a rya technique. It was a lot of fun to make and feels great under foot!

Happy Tuesday.

I love handkerchiefs. I have a bunch that I have had since childhood. I also pick them up at flea markets from time to time. Here are a few of my favourites. The blue handkerchief in the back is my all-time favourite. The designer has used some sort of inlay technique to apply the white border. I often wonder who put the love and care into designing and applying these stitches.

It would be nice to have the time and energy to decorate a few of my own. It could be a nice 365 day project to start.

Happy Wednesday.

I just can't stop experimenting with this loom.

Happy Tuesday!

I just recently started taking weaving classes and I'm learning some very helpful techniques to measure out the warp yarn and keep everything all orderly and tidy. It's all in German though so the proper terminology is missing from my English vocabulary. As impatient as I've been to get started (I've just finished setting up the loom to start weaving), I've been experimenting a little at home.

Happy Monday.

Happy belated New Years! I spent most of December dealing with health issues and then the beginning of January recovering from minor surgery. Now pretty much fully recovered I feel like my year is finally beginning.

I've been spending lots of time making things for around the house, like this rug that I finally finished. I had been working on it on and off for about a year now. It's perfect under our feet for the arrival of this cold weather we've been having.

Happy Saturday.
