We've been gearing up for fall and winter and have been trying to soak up the sunny days when they present themselves.

M. made some Grittibänz this weekend, wonderful little bread rolls.

I've been taking over M.'s studio lately, because it's been getting harder and harder to keep my projects out of little curious hands. Plus it is a wonderfully spacious and quiet place to be. No internet to distract me! I am thinking of permanently moving my sewing machine there as well. It would definitely improve my productivity.

Patterns and colour are popping up in our home and in my own projects lately. I'll post some photos as I finish projects up... hopefully in the coming weeks. I am full of ideas these days. I just hope that I can eke out some time to bring them to fruition.

Happy Monday.

Nature, leaves and outdoors on my mind. We're passively hunting for a cabin somewhere close to Berlin. I am dreaming of projects to test out our ability to build and have some ideas in mind for our apartment in the meantime. Perhaps once we make some progress I'll have some interesting things to post here!

Happy Monday.

Hello from Berlin. I'm back from a half a year break. Fall is officially upon us now... we broke down and turned on the heat yesterday.

Happy sunny Friday.

Hi! I'm still here and have been in the process of reorganizing my life and my schedule. I'm hoping to have more time this summer to post. I've just been spending a lot of time making things and spending time with friends and family, and haven't put much effort into documenting these things... which is how it should be sometimes.

Have a lovely start to the week!

It's been a bit of a rough month for us, or rather rough year so far. We said goodbye to our little friend yesterday. He had been having some health problems and yesterday morning (in the middle of a period awaiting test results) we noticed that he just wasn't right.

I bathed the little guy and he just lay in my arms not protesting one bit, which is not really his character. He was rather an agressive cat with those who didn't know him, but very loving with me. Then we called the emergency vet to check him out and give us some advice as to what we could do for him, and he told us that his liver had given up, so we decided that we could only relieve him of his pain and put him down. Surprisingly this wasn't such a hard decision to make. It was so hard to see him alive yet so lifeless.

I've been lucky never to have had such a close experience with death. Seeing someone or something that you see every day alive, and then in seconds so lifeless, just gone. I am now going through all the memories of our little friend and am lovingly thinking of all the nice times and even the annoying times with him. I wonder how long it will take before I don't think about saying hi to him when I come home, or waking up in the morning and greeting him in the hallway, feeding him before the day really starts.

Goodbye Louis.

I've had loads of photos on my camera from the fall that I didn't get around to posting here. In September friends of ours from Toronto, The Wardens, had a show at... Gallery in Mitte that I wanted to share with you. Both of these women, Heather and Naomi, make beautiful work that doesn't cease to amaze and inspire me, so keep your eye out for them.

Happy Tuesday.

It has been very grey and rainy in Berlin the last few days. It's making me think of the wonderful fall weather we had over the past few months. Here are some photos from a few of our fall days when I found myself with a little time on my hands, and spent some of it in various cafes around the city.
