The new year feels like it's finally beginning for me. We're just back from a very short, very last minute, very busy holiday. I'm sorry if I didn't get in touch with you while we were in Canada. Next time we'll have to allot much more time for friends.

We spent a lot of time with family, went to a lot of antique markets, and tried to pack in as many friends as possible, and didn't take enough photos. Here are just a few photos that actually turned out.

I start working again next week. Here's to getting into new routines.

Happy Wednesday.

New.

Hey everyone. We just got back from an extended trip to Canada. We were there for 6 whole weeks. Hence another serious break in posting. I just wanted to share with you some of the stuff that I've recently made. Baby stuff! I've found it super rewarding knitting baby clothes, they are so small so the project don't seem to take all that long to complete.

The baby quilt that she's lying on was my Father's when he was a baby. I can't believe what great shape it is in. I still can't figure out if those little animals on the quilt are cats or dogs. Any thoughts?

There are a couple of things happening in Berlin this week that we are planning to get out and see!

The Raymond Pettibon show at CFA
The Reading Raum put on by Wundercabinet at Etsy Lab

Plus we have some Toronto friends visiting over the weekend. I may get into some trouble. We'll see!

Happy Wednesday.

Hello again.

Random photos in and around Toronto.

I have been avoiding blogland for a while. This is in part because I hadn't taken many photos over the holidays, and since we've been back I've had a mountain of things to tackle and haven't really wanted to do any of them.

We are officially back in Berlin, and it feels really good. It was amazing being in Canada and visiting family and all of our wonderful friends. I really missed everyone so much and already do again. Why don't you all move to Berlin? I am so happy to be back in our space with our kitty and have big plans to get productive this year.

Over the weekend we tackled the crowds at Frankfurt airport and fought to get a flight back to Berlin. In the process our luggage was lost but then promptly returned to us the day after our arrival. In all the chaos I was so surprised by how calm everyone was being.

So coming up in the next few weeks in Berlin...

Transmediale
Bread and Butter
The XX
Berlinale (Film Fest)

I've also been wanting to go to the Carl Gustav Carus exhibition at the Alte National Gallerie but just found out that it closed last weekend. I need to stop putting off museum trips. At least this Carl Blechen show is coming up on the January 29th.

I'll also be working on some new designs for the fabric that I've been printing and want to make some products other than scarfs. Stay tuned.

Now if only we could stop waking up at 4am like reasonable people. We're just waiting for this jet lag to pass.

Happy Wednesday.

Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving Canada. We had a dinner last night with some Canadian friends but cheated a little bit. There was no turkey involved. Instead M. cooked up some mean Indian dishes... and I baked an apple pie! Unfortunately in the frenzy of it all I forgot to take photos. The best part is that M. managed to make paneer from scratch when we came home around 2am on Saturday evening. I was awestruck.

I ended up buying these shoes at this shop on the weekend. I have either slip-ons or boots and needed something in between for the coming winter weather.

On Saturday I crossed the huge job of replanting our window boxes off of my list of things to do. I even managed to save a dying fern that our cat had been slowly eating. I have to admit I felt like I had super powers on Saturday and don't remember ever getting so much stuff done in one day. We even had a friend stop by for a quick one night stay and I managed to get some crazy cleaning done before he arrived. I plan to do these crazy cleanings with much more frequency in the future.

Here is a really nice blog that I came across while reading this really nice blog.

It's raining here in Berlin.

Happy Monday.
